Congratulations to Don Couturier for winning the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) James L. Thistle Q.C. Law Student Essay Contest established by the Canadian Bar Association ADR Section. Mr. Couturier’s essay is entitled: “Walking Together: Indigenous ADR in Land and Resource Disputes”. Don Couturier is a law student in his second year at Queen’s University. He is also a Jane Glassco Northern Fellow, a policy and leadership development program that recognizes leadership potential among young northern Canadians. He holds a Master’s of Public Administration from Queen’s and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Victoria. Prior to law and graduate school, Don was a policy advisor for the Government of the Northwest Territories, working in the Office of the Secretary to Cabinet in the area of government transitions and mandate reporting. He was born and raised in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories.
