ADRIC-RICS Canada Adjudicator Training Program
The Training Program is in three modules:
Module 1: All About Construction Adjudication
Presented online Monday January 31, 2022 – 10:00am – 6:00pm Eastern Time
Last day to register for Module 1: January 27, 2022 at 11:59pm ET.
A one-day overview of how adjudication works and how to get the best out of it – illustrated with a practical case study presented by one of the UK’s most experienced adjudicators on the RICS President’s Panel.
Who will benefit?
This course is designed for construction and client organization staff, property developers, lawyers, quantity surveyors, architects, engineers, project managers, and anyone who would benefit from a clear understanding of adjudication.
It also provides an ideal networking opportunity for prospective adjudicators as well as party representatives and advocates to meet potential users of adjudication in Canada.
Certification: ADRIC-RICS Introduction to Adjudication Program Certificate of Completion
Professional Development Accreditation:
• Eligible for ADRIC Continuing Education & Engagement (CEE) points
• CPD accreditation pending from all Canadian law societies and other professional bodies.

Module 2: Advising and Representing Parties in Adjudications
Presented online Monday February 7 & Wednesday February 9*, 2022 – 10:00am – 5:00pm each day – Eastern Time
Registration for Module 2 is open until February 3, 2022 at 11:59pm ET.

This intense two-day program is designed for prospective adjudication party representatives, counsel, advocates and legal and built environment professionals for whom a more detailed understanding of construction adjudication will be beneficial for their work in advising clients.
It provides delegates with a solid understanding of the procedure and law of adjudication. Learn how to collate evidence and prepare written submissions for an adjudication, how to present oral evidence should a hearing be needed, how to manage clients’ expectations, what to do with a decision once delivered, how to get the decision enforced, and what to do if the decision is challenged. It also provides a specific focus on conflicts of interest, and ethics, and jurisdictional points that they might need to make on behalf of their clients.

This program provides an ideal networking opportunity for prospective adjudicators, party representatives and advocates and professionals advising clients on adjudication in Canada to meet and learn from each other’s experiences and perspectives. This module is mandatory for trainee adjudicators.
Assessment: This module is subject to a formal assessment by an online multiple choice test.
Certification: ADRIC-RICS Adjudication Advocate Certificate

ADRIC Full members: $795

Module 3: ADRIC-RICS Adjudicator Training Program
Dates: Sessions will be held between March 15 to April 12, 2022
Covering the remaining knowledge and competencies you need to practice as a construction adjudicator, with specific focus on applicable common and statutory law, adjudication practice, managing the adjudication process and decision writing.
You may need to buy 3 textbooks prior to Module 3. More information to follow.

Cancellation Policy:
If you must cancel for any Module, notice must be received in writing. All refund requests received up to one week prior to the date of the event will receive a refund less a 5% administrative fee. Notice must be received NO LATER THAN 11:59pm ET THREE DAYS PRIOR to the date of the event to receive a refund less a 25% administrative fee. No refunds available after that point.
