ADRIC has an Online Dispute Task Force (ODRTF). The Task Force formed a sub-committee on Platforms. ODR Platforms are those dispute resolution programs which offer the full range of ODR tools: case management; synchronous and asynchronous communication; reports, etc. Platforms differ apps such as Zoom, Teams, WebEx, Skype etc., as the apps only serve as synchronous communication apps, and lack the full menu of ODR which are characteristic to platforms.
The ODR Platforms sub committee received over a dozen presentations from various providers, and from many jurisdictions. The sub-committee recommends three platforms to the ODRTF and ADRIC. These platforms are: CREKODR, Caseload Manager, and the Sport Dispute Resolution Centre of Canada (SDRCC). Each one of these platforms has its own specific advantages (i.e. SDRCC is the Cadillac for arbitrations, CREKODR is an end to end secure ODR platform for Individuals and Organizations, and is more ideal for low volume users, and Caseload Manager is adaptable for a wide range of ODR activities beyond med and arb, such as Ombudsman roles).
We would encourage ADRIC Members who are looking for ODR Platforms to see which of these may best suit their needs. We also thank everyone who took time to present their platforms to us, and we wish them all success in the future.
