Josie is a Partner with BDO and specializes in corporate restructuring and due diligence. She joined BDO Canada Limited in January 2010 and is a member of the financial restructuring and transaction service teams in Toronto, Canada. Josie has over 20 years of experience providing restructuring, due diligence, divestiture, consulting, and valuation services to a wide range of companies. Her experience includes:
• Provides debt restructuring and refinancing assistance to secured lenders and debtors, including providing strategic advice and executing such, preparation of business reviews and assessments of companies of varying sizes and across various industries; analyze and prepare financial projections; liquidating assets of debtor companies in default of their security agreement, acting as monitor in CCAA and other troubled company situations Involved in Division I Proposal filings.
• Provides pre-lending due diligence services to asset-based lenders to assist in identifying risk areas within the borrower’s entity. Also provides post-lending field audits to ensure proper reporting and identifying potential default risk and erosion of security.
• Provided transaction support and due diligence services for transactions across various industries, with deal sizes ranging from $5 million to $1.5 billion.
• Led a team of professionals in a complex transaction involving divesting an entity to a competitor and performing due diligence on the competitor. The sellers’ proceeds were $1.5 billion based on a combination of cash and an equity interest in the combined competitor/seller’s company.
