    This lecture on arbitration commemorates the life and work of John E.C. Brierley, who was Professor and Dean of Law at McGill. He was a prominent figure in the discipline of comparative law internationally and the leading Canadian expert on arbitration.

    The John E.C. Brierley Memorial Lecture is presented by McGill and its Research Team on Private Justice and the Rule of Law, with the participation of the Canadian Bar Association (Québec branch) and the L. Yves Fortier Chair. It will be followed by a cocktail generously sponsored by Woods LLP.

    Cette conférence sur l’arbitrage commémore l’œuvre de John E.C. Brierley, qui fut professeur et doyen à la Faculté de droit de l’Université McGill. Figure marquante de la discipline du droit comparé à travers le monde, il fut à son époque l’expert incontesté de l’arbitrage au Canada.

    La conférence commémorative John E.C. Brierley est présentée par l’Université McGill et son équipe de recherche Justice privée et État de droit, avec la participation de la section québécoise de l’Association du Barreau Canadien et de la Chaire L. Yves Fortier.

    La présentation est suivie d’un cocktail dînatoire généreusement offert par le Cabinet Woods.
