ADRIC Accredited Courses

In addition to ADRIC’s own National Introductory Mediation Course offered by some of our Affiliates and the courses described on our Training Page, the following programs have been evaluated and approved as ADRIC Accredited Courses – they meet ADRIC’s standards, have approved trainers and meet some or all[1] of the educational requirements for the Chartered Mediator (C.Med) and  Qualified Mediator (Q.Med) designations.

Aga Khan Conciliation and Arbitration Board for Canada (CAB). CAB provides free mediation services to the community.
Mediation and Conciliation Training Programme (MCTP). This is a course offered for CAB members. The MCTP is a rigorous and comprehensive 5-day (40 hour) mediation training programme, designed to provide trainees with a thorough understanding of the processes, principles, and skills of mediation through classroom instruction and role-plays. Participants who complete the MCTP should be eligible for certification. In Person MCTP is offered to CAB members once every 3 years Member of CAB
CommonSense Mediation Academy

12 Week Online Mediation Certification Program

This 12 week online mediation certificate program is broken into modules which you can choose to take individually or sign up for the full 12 weeks and receive a module for free! *To receive the mediation certificate, you must take all 12 weeks, however, you can take them at your own pace and sign-up for each module whenever works for your schedule. You do not have to take the modules consecutively. Modules include:

  • Mediating Workplace Disputes
  • Mediating Estate and Elder Matters

Mediation and Dispute Resolution Certificate

The Mediation and Dispute Resolution certificate is a 12-week online course. Complete assignments when it’s convenient for you, participate in live discussions and roleplays and receive personalized support from a dedicated instructor. Develop the knowledge and practical skills to effectively mediate disputes. Learn conflict resolution methods applicable to a wide range of professional settings. Mediation Certificate Program

The mediation certificate program consists of eight courses for a total of 16 days of training.

There will be a focus the Mediators role and responsibilities, as well as the importance of Mediator Presence. Participants will be introduced to and practise an Interest-based mediation model and will have opportunities to learn how to assess a conflict to determine the appropriate ADR option, prepare the parties and facilitate the mediation. You will also have an opportunity to explore how to facilitate the emotional dynamic that often exists in the mediation room.
