BIO:
Brent Epperson, PhD – is an Assistant Professor of Conflict Studies at Saint Paul University. A Founding Partner at Just Equitable (https://justequitable.ca), he is a practicing ombudsman in Canada and in Europe. A public policy researcher with a professional background in academia, non-profit leadership, and public sector governance, he established the first ombudsman position at the University of Luxembourg in 2021 and has served as the university’s first ombudsman. Brent has been a member of multiple university committees and working groups in governance and in the mitigation of harassment and discrimination in Europe, Canada, and the United States. Parallel to research in public policy and administration, Brent has training in conflict coaching, mediation, and other forms of Appropriate Dispute Resolution (ADR). He completed his Master of Public Administration at the University of Montana (USA), his PhD at the University of Alberta (Canada), and his postdoctoral work at the Centre national de la recherche scientifique (CNRS, France). He is fully bilingual (English/French) with Spanish proficiency.
