In an informal message to roster members, the Office of Resolution Services, AB Justice & Solicitor General announced the passing of Camilla Witt with acknowledgement she was a leader in establishing the Civil Claims mediation program and her positive impact on the program and the dispute resolution field was tremendous and admired by many.
In support of Ms. Witt’s 2011 nomination for the award, Pete Desrochers, Executive Director of AAMS stated: “…she has long been recognized as a cornerstone of mediation in Alberta, particularly in advancing mediation as a viable and productive option within Alberta courts. She has the respect, reverence and gratitude of pretty well an entire profession for developing mediation to where it is in Alberta today. Even now, she is a strong positive influence, a strong advocate, and sets example to which we should all aspire.”
