BIO:
Nathalie Poirier joined the federal government in 2016 with the Department of National Defense as a conflict management practitioner. Subsequently she has worked as a senior conflict management practitioner with the Department of Fisheries and Oceans and currently with Crown Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canadian. Nathalie also worked in case management for victims of sexual misconduct with the Department of National Defense. These experiences have contributed to her knowledge of trauma informed practices and conflict management practices. Nathalie is certified EQi coaching, conflict and leadership coaching, non-violent communication approaches, mediation, group processes and workplace assessments.
In addition, Nathalie is currently a student at Saint Paul University in the Public Ethics Master’s program. She holds a BA in Conflict Studies from Saint Paul University and has previously been a student with the University of Ottawa in the Bachelor of Fine Arts program. Nathalie is also recipient of the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council Grant (SSHRC) for her thesis proposal in working with issues facing Northern communities.
