Paul Fauteux practices law, mediation and arbitration with Colas Moreira Kazandjian Zikovsky, a Montreal law firm specialized in international trade and business law. He is one of six Canadians to hold the Diploma of The Hague Academy of International Law and was accredited by the Barreau du Québec (Québec Bar) as a mediator and arbitrator. He teaches Mediation and Participative Justice in the Civil Law Section of Ottawa University’s Faculty of Law and taught International Commercial Arbitration at the École du Barreau du Québec (Québec Bar School).
He served as a member of the Federal Public Sector Labour Relations and Employment Board, and an external dispute resolution specialist for the Business Dispute Management Program of Public Services and Procurement Canada. He is currently a Roster Member of the Sport Dispute Resolution Centre of Canada. He was a Canadian diplomat and senior government executive from 1980 to 2010, Director General of Environment Canada’s Climate Change Bureau from 2000 to 2004 and Director General of Lands at Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada from 2004 to 2010.
