ADR Institute of Canada (“ADRIC”) is currently engaged in a significant overhaul of its Arbitration Rules. I am pleased to co-chair the Arbitration Modernization Committee (“AMP”) along with Jim McCartney of Calgary and Jim Musgrave of Halifax. Members of the AMP and its Advisory Board include an impressive cross-section of leading arbitration practitioners across the country.

If you want to get more involved with commercial arbitration in Canada, now is a perfect time to turn your attention to ADRIC, the leading national organization with a pan-Canadian focus.

ADRIC provides critical services to the Canadian arbitration community including professional designations (Q.Arb., C.Arb.), training standards (e.g. for the Gold Standard Course in Commercial Arbitration), National Arbitration Rules, conference programming, journal and newsletter publication opportunities, roster visibility, and arbitration appointments.

At the same time, ADRIC is undergoing a major structural change which will allow it to intensify its focus on arbitration through an Arbitration Steering Committee which will have a primary role regarding services in support of arbitrations seated in Canada.

ADRIC is seeking applications from people who would like to serve on the Arbitration Steering Committee. If you are an ADRIC member active in the arbitration space, consider applying to be on the Arbitration Steering Committee. If you are not an ADRIC member, now would be a great time to join.
