BIO:
Sarah Curry is presently the acting Ombuds for Health Canada and the Public Health Agency of Canada. Leading the Centre for Ombuds, Resolution and Ethics (CORE), Sarah and her team support employees at all levels of the organisation to understand, and address workplace issues. CORE acts as an early warning system to raise matters of systemic concern to those with the authority to act, while providing support and recommendations for timely resolution.
In 2017, Sarah was appoint as the Director of Informal Conflict Management for Health Canada and the Public Health Agency of Canada. In this role, Sarah oversees a national team of high performing conflict resolution professionals to deliver prevention and resolution services to an organization of more than 15,000 employees. Previously, Sarah was an ADR practitioner for the Department of National Defence, working in Ottawa, Quebec region, and at CFB Borden. Sarah is a skilled facilitator, coach, and mediator.
Sarah holds a Master’s of Arts in International Law and the Settlement of Disputes from the United Nations mandated University for Peace, as well as a Bachelor’s of Arts in Human Right and Legal Studies from Carleton University. She has completed the Graduate Certificate in Conflict Resolution at Carleton University, and the Ombuds fundamentals program at Université Sherbrooke.
Sarah and her husband are avid travellers, and currently spend their time in the energetic, and tireless, company of their 10-month old Lab puppy, Arthur.
